Ohio Fossils

The Ohio state fossil is Isotelus maximus, one of the largest trilobites known - up to over 700 mm. Isotelus of trilobite Order Asaphida is thought to have been a predator, stalking other trilobites during the Ordovician some 490 to 430 million years ago.
